As a kid, she appeared frequently in local plays, and became somewhat of a routine on the scene by the time she was 16. When she appeared in a nearby production of the musical The Baker’s Wife, she was motivated to continue a profession in Nyc. She later moved to New York City and studied history at Fordham University. Mostly referred to as a stage performer, White began her professional career in regional theatre. After appearing in productions of Absurd Person Singular, Marvin’s Room, Largo Desolato and On the Verge, she made her off Broadway debut having a character in Lucky Stiff. Her television career got recognition in 1993 as a cast member of the comedy show Grace Under Fire.

The show debuted as the highest-rated new comedy of the season, but fell victim to behind the scenes disagreements amongst the production staff. Following recurring characters in Six Feet Under and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, she took her next routine character in the comedy show Cavemen. Her character as Leslie McKinney, the mom of Kate (Kaitlyn Doubleday), was shortlived, nevertheless, as the writers’ strike get the show on hiatus; it was later canceled prior to the disagreement was concluded. White also appeared in a number of movies, including Flypaper, Say It’s Not So, Sunday on the Rocks, War of the Worlds, and Transformers. In 2008, she was cast in the follow up to the smash action success called Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. In the year 2012, Julie White joined the cast of the NBC comedy show Go On, starring Matthew Perry (of the long-running situation comedy Friends).
