James Beeland Rogers, better called Jim Rogers, is an American writer and investor, now living in Singapore. As for today, he’s chairing his private company, Rogers Holdings and Beeland interests, Inc. Jim is also called a cofounder of hedge funds based in Cayman Islands and Curacao, entitled Quantum Group of Funds. In the business community he’s commended as a designer of Rogers International Commodity Index.

Although Jim avoids connecting himself with a particular school of economics, he’s openly acknowledged that his professional perspectives are closest to the Austrian School. When the future millionaire was 5, he began selling peanuts in baseball matches and collecting empty bottles, left by the devotees. Although this “company” failed to add much to Jim Rogers net worth, it helped him understand that cash doesn’t come readily. After graduating from high school Rogers registered at Yale University, were he studied history. Following this himself got work in Wall Street, in among the earliest financial services associations in America, now called Dominick & Dominick LLC. Jim didn’t settle with one prestigious diploma and rather determined to continue his studies at Oxford University. In mid 1960s Rogers graduated with a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.
In 1970 Jim got work in Arnhold and S. Bleichroder, a successful investment bank, were he was co-workers with George Soros. For people who’ve never learned of the guy, Soros is a Hungarian-American investor, business magnate and philanthropist, now chairing Soros Fund Management. In 1992 the firm became renowned for supposedly driving the bank of England to devaluate the British pound.
Not having to be concerned about finances, Jim decided to briefly “retire” from company and look around America from the seat of his bike. In the early 2000s Rogers was comprised into the Guinness World Record Book as the only guy that have ever managed to see 116 states in 3 years. To be able to do this, Jim had to beat a distance of 245 thousand kilometers. Through all this manner Rogers was followed by his cherished wife.
